Seattle Police Killed a Woman, Then Joked About Her Death

A 26-year-old woman was killed by Seattle police. An officer, recklessly driving 74 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone, struck her in a crosswalk. The woman was thrown 138 feet from the impact – and tragically died.

As if this isn't horrific enough, in recently released body cam footage, another officer can be heard making jokes about the woman who was killed. The officer said that the deceased woman had "limited value" and that the department should just "write a check."

This is disgusting and dangerous behavior from people who are allegedly charged with keeping our communities safe. Both officers should be fired immediately!

Sign now to demand Seattle Chief of Police Adrian Diaz fire this officer and the officer that killed this woman from the force!

The victim had a promising future – she was about to graduate with a master's degree from Northeastern University, and had been working hard to support her family who live in India. Yet apparently her life meant very little to members of the force, given that they were literally making jokes about her death shortly after it happened.

Police officers who kill innocent civilians should be fired – full stop. And those that make jokes about civilian deaths should be fired, too.

Sign the petition now to demand that Adrian Diaz hold these officers accountable!
