Rocky Mountain Power: Protect Our Parks from Coal Pollution
Rocky Mountain Power, a local Utah utility, is gearing up to challenge the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over a recently approved plan to reduce coal pollution in our beloved national parks such as Arches, Canyonlands and Grand Canyon.
Instead of working with the EPA to protect our communities and national parks from coal pollution, Rocky Mountain Power intends to sue the EPA in order to delay the implementation of this plan. By delaying the EPA, Rocky Mountain Power pads its bottom line and protects its aging coal fleet.
More delay means more coal pollution, which threatens our air, our parks, and our businesses and communities who depend on them.
Over 85,000 people across the country sent messages to the EPA in support of the plan to protect our national parks from dirty coal pollution, and they listened.
Don't let utilities like Rocky Mountain Power stop our progress.
Tell Cindy Crane, the CEO of Rocky Mountain Power, to get out of the way of progress and to work with the EPA to protect the health, communities and national parks of Utah from coal pollution without delay.
Dear Rocky Mountain Power CEO Cindy Crane,
We have waited long enough.
It's unfair to Utahns and concerned families and businesses throughout the region and across the country to further delay critical clean air safeguards recently approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The EPA's plan will result in meaningful reductions in coal pollution that threaten our iconic landscapes and public lands in places like Arches and Canyonlands, and as far away as the Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde in Colorado, while providing critical support to the communities and businesses that depend on them.
More delay only means more coal pollution that threatens our air, our parks, and those businesses and communities who depend on them.
[Your comment will go here]
I urge you to quickly implement the EPA's plan to reduce coal pollution from the Hunter and Huntington coal-fired power plants and protect our state’s people and parks for generations to come.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
