Nowhere is safe for children in Gaza. Sign for safety in Gaza.

Children are bearing the brunt of the war. The fighting has killed thousands and there are verified reports of children dying from starvation and disease, suffering life-changing injuries or missing out on almost an entire year of education.

Gaza's children have been without access to essential food, clean water and medical supplies for over ten months. The population is on the brink of famine. In northern Gaza, one in three children under age 3 are now malnourished, putting them at greater risk of infectious disease.

And now Polio has returned to Gaza. Children under 5 are most at risk of death or serious complications, due to having never been vaccinated.

Without access to clean water, it is only a matter of time before Polio is followed by other infectious diseases, which could sink Gaza even further into a health catastrophe.

Children have been deprived of their right to health, education and safety as a result of fatal attacks on aid workers delivering lifesaving assistance. Almost half of Gaza's hospitals are no longer functioning. The other half are critically overstretched and understaffed, while over 2 million people face the triple threat of conflict, disease and starvation.

Add your name if you believe children living in conflict zones must be protected—no matter where they are in the world.

The IRC is directly providing water, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene services—including direct medical care—, as well as procuring and distributing medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
