Warner Brothers: Correct your Harry Potter Ravenclaw merchandise to have the proper crest and house colors!

Ever since reading the books and seeing the movies, Harry Potter fans around the world tend to be experts in anything and everything having to do with the Wizarding World. So of course they would be quick to notice if there was something wrong. For years now since the films were released, fans have noticed an important error when it comes to Ravenclaw house.

In the books, J.K. Rowling specifically states that Ravenclaw's mascot is an eagle and its house colors are blue and bronze. This was also reconfirmed through Pottermore on these two pages. However, for whatever reason these details were changed for the films, and Ravenclaw's mascot became a raven and its colors became blue and silver, a color exclusive to Slytherin house. Just because raven is in Ravenclaw doesn't mean the raven should be the house mascot. If that were the case then Gryffindor's mascot would have been changed from a lion to a gryffin.

All Harry Potter merchandise sold by Warner Brothers online and at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter follows the films and as a result, die-hard fans and members and Ravenclaw house like myself are disappointed and frustrated, as this leaves us no choice but to either rely on outside merchandisers for products with the correct details or make them ourselves. Furthermore, Warner Brothers is missing out on revenue from Ravenclaw fans who aren't buying merchandise for their house solely because of these discrepancies. Juniper Books ran into a similar problem when fans noticed the covers of their Ravenclaw-themed Harry Potter books were decorated with a raven instead of an eagle. In response to complaints from fans, Juniper Books founder Thatcher Wine released redesigned Ravenclaw books with an eagle on the cover.

Warner Brothers can keep the raven and the blue & silver color scheme for those who are used to it but if they take the time to correct these errors for everyone refusing to buy the products because of them, they can gain more revenue and Ravenclaws everywhere like myself will finally be able to represent their house properly just like the others.

Hogwarts House Scarves

Dear Warner Brothers,

This issue may not appear to mean much but the Harry Potter fandom is a community with strong attention to detail. The error concerning the colors and mascot of the Ravenclaw merchandise did not go unnoticed by the fans ever since the films started. The other Hogwarts Houses are represented correctly, so it's only fair that Ravenclaw gets the same just treatment.

Correcting the mistakes noted in the merchandise would benefit the fans as well as the company. You're free to continue making Ravenclaw products in their current form but consider the fans who refuse to purchase any and rely on outside merchandisers in order to represent their house proudly.

Sincerely,

We, The Undersigned
