In the quiet town of McColl, South Carolina, a recent tragedy needs immediate attention and action. Mayor George Garner II died in a collision during a police chase just days after the town's entire police force resigned. The circumstances of his death raise serious concerns about the motives and actions of law enforcement.

Allegedly, the high-speed chase of Mayor Garner, who had just been re-elected, was done to "protect the well-being of Mr. Garner." It seems that no laws had been broken by Mayor Garner to warrant such a chase.

To make things stranger, the town coroner made the claim that the police chase was for Mayor Garner's safety.

The suspicious timing of Garner's death, bizarre claims by the police and coroner, and the lack of clarity on the legal grounds for the chase, demand a thorough examination. At the very least, we must question why a protective pursuit resulted in death.

The residents of McColl and the family of Mayor Garner deserve answers and justice.
