We want Whole Foods Market to stop the usage of palm oil in their 365 store brand products.
Palm oil kills the rainforest, our rainforest. The rainforest that provides more than 4o% of the worlds oxygen, the rainforest that hold the cure for many important diseases, most of which have not yet been discovered. The rainforest also is home to millions of animals and insects that are dying with the rainforest. We would like whole foods to stop using palm oil in their 365 store brand products. Palm oil kills the rainforest because the oil palm tree can only be grown in rainforest climate so big companies clear thousands of acres of rainforest to grow oil palm trees. To clear the land palm oil producer’s burn the forest well the animals are in it.
Whole foods claims to be green. Their mission statement and core values say, “We respect our environment” and “We support our environment”. Also signs all over the store say that they are eco-friendly. But how eco friendly are they really if they use palm oil in a lot of their products?
Whole foods and every palm oil using company will say that they are using “sustainable” palm oil or that palm oil is good for the earth but those are just big corporate lies since the forest is still destroyed.
To say a company uses sustainable palm oil they need to get a certificit from the RSPO (The Roundtable of Sustanible Palm Oil). The problem is that the RSPO and almost every other sustainable palm oil certifying group is just a group of palm oil companies wanting to give there business a boost by saying it doesn’t harm the rainforest.
By signing this petition you would like WHOLE FOODS MARKET TO STOP USING ALL PALM OIL IN THEIR 365 STORE BRAND PRODUCTS, therefore saving the rainforest and making Whole Foods Market the green corporation they claim to be
If we can make Whole Foods Market stop using palm oil, we can put a big dent in the palm oil industry that will make the corporate giants like whole foods and Cargill use a different and eco-friendly alternative to palm oil.
