Please sign and share this petition everywhere on all media websites in an effort to get New Hampshire to pass a law that will require any and all animal cruelty offenders to pay all cost for caring for those animals. Currently animal shelters have to endure cost of caring for animals in their care as the result of an animal cruelty situation but we are trying to support the state passing a law that will make the offenders responsible for these costs.
The "Cost of Care Bond" bill has been established in an effort to make owners of animals that have been confiscated due to cruelty be responsible for the cost of their care. If under investigation, the courts find that the owner cannot provide necessary care of an animal or animals in a cruelty situation, that owner should be required to pay a bond to cover all cost for the animal care.
Shelters already have to endure extreme cost for animal care and they don't have the money in their budgets required for all the animal care. Animal cruelty on the rise, the offenders need to be held responsible for these horrific violations in addition to the cost of care for those animals they abused, even after they have been confiscated. Such a law needs to be implemented that makes animal abuser held accountable not only animal felony charges but also monetary responsibility for the care of the animal or animals involved. As in any crime, somebody is responsible for paying a fine. Cost of the care animals subjected to abuse is also high and those responsible for the improper care still need to be held accountable as they would be in caring for their own pets. That's the way it should be!!! Please help us in our efforts to support New Hampshire in passing this law by signing and sharing the petition everywhere and spread the word.
New Hampshire law legislators - Any responsible pet owner automatically takes on the cost of feeding and caring for the pad pets and their family. It should be no different for abusers to be totally held responsible for care of their animals, even when they are taken into custody. Criminal animal abuse and cruelty is continually on the rise, and often subjected to felony animal cruelty charges. In addition to those charges, someone needs to be responsible caring for the animals that were taken into custody. Charges and penalties need to include jail time, fines and all estimated cost of caring for that animal or animals incurred by the shelter and veterinary care. Such required funds from the offenders would help to offset the cost that shelters are lacking. Please pass and enforce the "Cost of Care Bond" bill!
