Despite massive protests from around the world and from the European Union (EU), Sweden has announced that 32 grey wolves can be shot in 2012, this is out of a total population around 200 grey wolves in the whole country, yes you heard right, there is only 200 left (which the Swedish government considers as a normal and healthy grey wolf population), and yet they are still allowed to kill them, the main reasons for wolf hunting is that wolves eats the livestock from reindeer farmers and sheep farmers in northern Sweden.
A massive protest from the whole world was sent to the European Environment Commissioner Janez Potocnik, who said that the EU will make some kind of sanctions against Sweden.
Politicians ignore the pressure from the EU.
Farmers will not ensure their animals with proper fences or dogs.
The hunters have started a party they call Nature Democrat Party. The Nature Democrats, a new political party in Sweden, has just one platform issue: the total elimination of wolves in Sweden.
We have to do all we can for the saving the last remaining few wolves in Sweden. The grey wolf is the only wolf species that exists in Sweden.

Being Swedish myself, i say stop the wolf hunt, both because the wolves are soon going to be extinct and because it makes us look like idiots to the rest of the world

Sweden has now decided to officially cancel the licensed hunt of 32 grey wolves because of threats of sanctions from the EU, but wait, instead Sweden are now allowing the hunters to "only" shoot wolves that has caused damage and trouble for the farmers, according to some reports, this may cause even more dead wolves, since wolves are a "pest" for the reindeer farmers and sheep farmers
The only difference is that the hunts are now managed by the county councils in Sweden instead of the Swedish government
