The Oregon Right to Rescue Act

  • by: Kay Sams
  • recipient: Senator Sara Gelser

In order to stop the incidence of canine vehicular entrapment from subjecting thousands of dogs in Oregon to the shocking effects of hyperthermia every summer; a fate which literally cooks them from the inside out, this act would allow a "Good Samaritan" to break out the window of a hot car in order to save a pet, without fear of retribution from the vehicle owner, as long as they conform to the safe guard conditions required by this law.
