Just 6 months afer being hired by Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, Chief Tommy Friel has been forced out as the state agency's top law enforcement officer. Chief Friel initiated investigations into misconduct by high-level supervisors, and was working to make the agency more professional, making him unpopular with leadership.
The same day it was announced he was being forced out, one of his investigations revealed 12 guns were missing from the agency. It's outrageous that political leaders are ignoring results, and seem unconcerned with the historically poor operation of this agency.
We need to let our voices be heard and end DLNR police corruption. I stand in support of Tommy Friel the only DOCARE Chief to have the moral fortitude and integrity to eliminate corruption and regain public trust.
We demand the reinstatement of Chief Thomas Friel.
