This year will mark the 8th appearance by The Waterboys at Glastonbury Festival (Pyramid Stage, Sat 27 June from 13:30 - 14:30). Despite their many appearances at Glastonbury, The Waterboys have never been featured in the BBC's televised coverage of this event. The band has a lasting and well known legacy of performing at Glastonbury beginning 31 years ago, including a 1986 set on the Pyramid Stage that has become legendary as one of the classic Glastonbury performances.
It has come to our attention that BBC coverage of Glastonbury Festival’s Pyramid Stage on Saturday 27th June is not set to begin until just after The Waterboys performance takes place (coverage begins later on Saturday than on the other festival days).
We, the undersigned, come to you in unison with this petition respectfully requesting that the BBC film The Waterboys performance at the 2015 Glastonbury Festival, either for live broadcast or for broadcast later in the weekend, to ensure the tradition of The Waterboys at Glastonbury is rightfully and deservedly documented and made available to the public whose lives and hearts have been touched by their music through the years.
