Keep the LA State Troopers in the French Quarter

We are petitioning to let the decision makers in the state of La. and New Orleans local government know that we are concerned about the level of security in the French Quarter and the City of New Orleans. We are requesting by this petition that the LA State Troopers remain in French Quarter permanently at the level that they began in June of 2014.

We support NOPD, but know they are rebuilding their staff. It may take many years to rebuild to the levels before 2010. In the interim we request the LA State Troopers prescence remain intact at the current levels until NOPD becomes fully staffed. We understand this could take several years.

Hi Everyone,

I spoke with a knowledgeable source yesterday that confirmed the Troopers will be leaving Nov. 1. We've heard a lot about the Nola Patrol effort, and while we can always use some QOL officers in the quarter, these will be unarmed civilians, that won't be able to enforce the law at a level close to that of State Troopers or NOPD.
Thanks for signing, and please get this out to as many residents as possible.

Hi everyone,

We are now at a 154 signatures. Thanks again for signing the petition! We have more than doubled from last Friday. As I understand it the LA Troopers leave in November 1, and there has been no announcement of them staying any longer.

We need to get a lot more signatures. So if you are a member of a local community organization, an HOA, or have a good local email list, please reach out!

Thanks again,

Mike

Hi Everyone,

Thanks again for signing the petition to keep the La Troopers in the Quarter. In four short days we have collected 68 signatures and are well on our way to breaking a 100, and on to 500 and more. Please follow up with your friends to sign up. If each of us gets 5 more signatures a piece we would be over 300!
Our elected officials will listen to numbers!
Thanks again for working towards a safer French Quarter, and New Orleans.
