Ban ALL Wild Animals in Indian Circuses!

In the 1990s, the Indian Supreme Court banned wild animals such as lions, bears, monkeys and panthers from circuses, citing widespread neglect. This decision spared countless animals from a life of confinement and exploitation. Unfortunately, circuses continue to exploit lesser-known animals like hippos.
A hippopotamus has recently died in a flood due to alleged neglect of Gemini Circus in Kerala. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), hippo populations have declined 7% to 20% over the past 10 years. Although hippos have vulnerable status, their lack of protection continues due to a lack of protection for exotic species.
Exploitation of any animal for human entertainment is unacceptable. Circus animals are subject to poor living conditions, confined to small cages, forced to perform unnatural acts and deprived of regular vet care. Please sign the petition to urge authorities to ban all wild animals from Indian circuses!
