Don't Euthanize Mother Coyote Blinded by Bullet

A pregnant coyote was found at the bottom of a dry reservoir near Solvang, California. Clinging to life, and blinded by a shot between her eyes, she wandered for weeks, perhaps months, before falling into the reservoir.

The Animal Rescue Team of Solvang responded to a call to their hotline, and Julia Di Sieno climbed down 30 feet to rescue her. The coyote was bleeding and having trouble breathing. Upon examination, it was determined she was pregnant. She gave birth to 5 pups, which Di Sieno will care for until they are mature enough to be released into the wild. She hopes to keep the mother coyote, who she named Angel, as a surrogate mom for young coyotes that her nonprofit rescues.

But it is illegal to possess a coyote in California unless permitted by the state.

Please sign to help persuade California Fish & Game not to euthanize her, and to let the Animal Rescue Team keep her. What she has already endured is beyond comprehension.
