Ban bee-killing pesticides on Boulder County Open Space!

In December 2011, the Boulder County Commissioners promised that they would review any new studies linking bees' exposures to neonicotinoid-class pesticides to Colony Collapse Disorder. So far the Commissioners have taken no action to review a flood of recently-published data pointing unambiguosly to this connection.  The future of the entire agricultural industry in Boulder County is at risk if they do not impose an immediate, comprehensive ban on these toxic chemicals.  Thank you for signing and sharing this petition as widely as possible.  You don't have to live in Boulder County to sign.

Dear Commissioners,

Please ban neonicotinoid pesticides on Boulder County Open Space lands NOW.

In December 2011, as part of your Cropland Policy decision, you promised that you would review any new studies linking bees' exposures to neonicotinoid pesticides with Colony Collapse Disorder. So far, you have taken no action to review recently-published data pointing unambiguosly to this connection, nor have you scheduled further public hearings on this issue. There is no reason for any further delay in setting up this public review process and/or banning this class of pesticides from our public lands in Boulder County.

Thank you for your consideration of this urgent matter.

Sincerely,
