"What began in the 1800s as a contest of skill has become a manipulative display of human domination over captive animals disguised as entertainment. The animals used in rodeos are not aggressive by nature they are physically provoked into displaying aggressive behaviour in order to make their masters look brave. Most become distrustful of people because of harsh treatment involving tools of torment such as electric prods spurs and bucking straps are used to irritate and enrage animals in rodeos. The flank or “bucking” strap or rope is tightly cinched around the animals' abdomens which causes them to “buck vigorously to try to rid themselves of the torment".
Although watching grown men abusing baby animals might be considered a "tradition" it is time to BUCK tradition.
