ERECT AND MAINTAIN ELECTRIC FENCES AROUND ENDANGERED VILLAGES IN SRI LANKA

Population growth and destruction of forests in the rural areas of Sri Lanka are causing habitat reduction of the wild elephants leaving them with little or no food especially in the dry season. Elephants are comming into villages to obtain the food they need, mostly after harvest time. this has and is claiming human lives. please urge the Department of Wildlife conservation of Srilanka to erect and maitain electric fences around endangered villages from which both villagers and elephants will benefit.
