Petco and Petsmart stop the sale of betta fish NOW!

Petco and Petsmart needs to stop selling Betta fish NOW!!
These beautiful creatures are shipped to your local petstores in a cardboard box, in tiny plastic bags, with a bluish tint. That bluish tint in the water is a calming solution to keep their activity level low while they are getting shipped to different places in the world through mail. They double-bag fish using strong plastic bags with a minimum thickness of 4 mils. Each bag must also be filled with about one-third water and the rest oxygen.

When the Bettas have finally arrived to their location to get sold (who knows how long that takes) they are put into tiny plastic containers. These containers are easily grabbed off of shelves they are places on. The containers these fish are stored in are also easily accessible to children, which means they can be easily dropped and grabbed by just about anyone. I have been to many Petco’s and Petsmarts’s and am upset everytime I go to see the cute little animals. I have seen dead Betta with no food, dirty water, no fins, or just dead. After all this tough travel they endure they are not even cared for at the stores.

Please, let’s just leave Betta fish alone.
