Stop The Evil Dog Fighting Forever

Dog fighting is illegal in the UK but is becoming more and more popular. It is a growing problem, not only because of the cruelty for the dogs involved but also for the terrible effects on our society. Tell the UK government to enforce laws about dog fighting!
Dog fighting has been illegal in the UK for more than 150 years. Yet consecutive governments have done little to bring those who force dogs into this bloody activity to justice and to give them the longer sentences that they deserve. And, back in June, Channel 4 even aired a dog fighting documentary.
We ask for immediate measures to be taken to put a STOP to the criminal activity of dog fighting and to ensure the individuals involved are legally charged. Under Section 8 of the 2006 Animal Welfare Act, it is unlawful to cause a dog fight, to be involved in the organisation of a dog fight or to make or accept a bet on a fight, as well as to keep or train an animal for use in a dog fight. The maximum penalty for such offenses is 6 months imprisonment and/or a £5,000 fine and the court can order the owner be deprived of ownership of the dog and banned from owning or keeping another dog. Stiffer prison sentences and a lifelong ban on keeping animals are necessary.
This plea is in the name of our children, in the name of our society, in the name of many animal protection organizations, in the name of the unprotected animals that are killed or gravely injured in these fights. We will never stop demanding the end of this cruel activity. We will continue to fight for this cause until the dog fights become extinct.
Don't let it take another 150 years to stop dog fighting in the UK now!
Does anyone agree that special forces need to be set up to deal with these extremely violent criminals and other extremes such as People traffickers and Gangsters etc. Since they are all becoming more extreme and consider themselves as being untouchable. If the Police haven't made any impression in over 150 years of this being illegal, then you can see why they think like that.
Please Google both BBC and Channel 4 undercover Dog fighting plus there are many more examples of dog fighting this is mainly for reading their descriptions online as I think the videos are now inactive. Another Ch4 program was Dangerous dogs and proud of it. I need to attempt to get Ch4 and BBC onside with this petition also to contact other high profile people who may be influential, and helpful to this petition.
