We wish to appeal to Bishop Victoria Matthews and the Church to reconsider their decision to demolish Christchurch's Cathedral:
· Once the Cathedral is gone, it's gone forever
- It has been estimated that it could cost as little as $18 million to repair, restore and strengthen the Cathedral
- Christchurch, all of New Zealand and the world need to stand up and voice their opinion
- The Cathedral is a huge tourist attraction and is an integral part of the city. It attracts people into the city centre. Without our icon, the city will lose its heart
- We are not asking for a total rebuild, we are asking that the Cathedral be repaired, restored and strengthened
- We wish to appeal to the council to voice their opinion on this issue and sign this petition
- Cathedral Square is a great. Something will be lost forever if the Cathedral is no more
- There would be many people who would donate their skills and expertise freely to bring back the Cathedral
- Come on everyone: let's not finish what nature started - let's fight back on this issue
