Stop Pitbull bans in Missouri

Descrimination is a huge problem in this country, and it doesn't end with people. It's just as bad if not worse in the world of the four legged. Pitbull type dogs and cross-breeds are the current victim of Breed Specific Legislation. In the 70's it was the Doberman, in the 80's it was the Rottweiler, and from then on out it has been the these beautiful and loyal dogs.

In 2006 The National Canine Research Council did a study identifying common factors in fatal dog attacks and this was their findings...

      • In 97% of the attacks, the dog was not spayed or neutered

      • In 84% of the attacks, a neglectful or abusive owner was involved

      • In 78% of the attacks, the dog was as guard dog, a breeder, or a yard dog

As a person who understands animals, you should know that if an animal is neglected or treated poorly, chances are it can turn aggressive. It takes a good owner who is going to take the proper time to train and socialize the animal to make a good dog.

Spend the money on creating stricter legislations on bad owners, as opposed to "bad dogs". Dogs are, after all, taught by their owners.
