Save Canada's Endangered Species!

Canada's federal and Ontario governments introduced two bills -- the 420-page Bill C-38 and 327-page Bill 55 -- that will significantly weaken the Endangered Species Act and other environmental legislation.

A study in "The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences" identified the boreal forest, which makes up 40 percent of Ontario, as the biome most vulnerable to climate change and industrial activity. Even so, the government justifies the two bills, claiming that environmental concerns are a barrier to economic prosperity.

Economic prosperity means little when the nation's environmental health is at risk. A healthy environment provides clean air and water, aesthetic and recreational value and resources such as timber and medicine. Please sign the petition to stand up for Canada's wildlife.
