Tell Petco to Lift Ban on FIV Cats

PETCO doesn't allow rescue groups to bring FIV cats into their stores for adoption events. Unfortunately, this old-school thinking perpetuates a myth that has doomed countless cats to death.

Rather than being transmitted by casual contact such as sharing food and water bowls and even mutual grooming, FIV is only transmitted in utero from an infected mother to her kittens or by a serum-to-blood route, as in a deep bite wound.  FIV is not an easily transmitted disease, and for the most part cats who have FIV live long and uneventful lives when given normal attentive care that included early intervention for common maladies such as the sniffles.

We the undersigned, believe that Petco should left its ban on FIV cats from adoption events.  FIV is not an easily communicable disease, and this discrimination leads to the death of cats that would otherwise be adopted.  Please reconsider your policy.  Thank you for your time.
