A Dog-Fighting Operation Involved 107 Dogs That Were Traumatized, Injured, and Starving

Dog-fighting is an extremely cruel "blood sport" in which humans entertain themselves by watching animals rip each other to shreds, and earn money by betting on "winners." Dogs trapped in this world only know lives of violence, cruelty, trauma, and fear - and they can never get out, unless a human helps them.

That's why it was so alarming to learn that a man in Georgia had collected 107 dogs that he was using to breed, sell, and force into the terrifying world of dog-fighting.

He's now been found guilty by a court, but what about the rest of his dog-fighting network? With so many dogs involved, there must be many people involved as well. Sign the petition to demand that authorities find everyone who was complicit and hold them accountable!

After authorities received a tip about the property, as well as a judge's permission to search it, they discovered more than 100 animals in terrible condition. Most showed indicators of having been abused, and a veterinarian saw many that were covered in scars from fighting. Some had even had their teeth removed!

Additionally, authorities allege that there was no food, water, or shelter for the animals. Most were malnourished and underweight as a result. Some were even found captive in a basement, with urine and feces all over the floor.

On top of that, the property revealed evidence of dog-fighting and dog-breeding. There were contracts lying around for selling dogs, and other documents showing the man had been in contact with other known dog-fighters. The premises also contained canine first-aid kits and prescription-only dog medication for injuries - as well as equipment to train dogs to become more aggressive. This included a "break stick" for humans to use during a fight.

A judge has since convicted the man on animal abuse and dog-fighting charges, since these are illegal in the state of Georgia. But it's important to make sure that the rest of the dog-fighting network is addressed, so that more dogs aren't harmed.

Sign the petition to urge Georgia authorities to find the rest of this dog-fighting ring!
