The Trump presidency has terrified both the country and world in less than a month, regressing decades of women's rights, environmental protections, and immigrant rights in executive orders. Yet perhaps scariest of all is this administration's hatred of truth and facts.
Most recently, Kellyanne Conway made up a "massacre," the Bowling Green Massacre. This incident takes the lies of the Trump administration to a new level - they are no longer distorting numbers, but now making up entire stories to fit their narrative. She claimed that this was a slip of the tongue, but today various news sources discovered she has lied about this massacre at least three times. This comes just a week after Conway decided to call Sean Spicer's lies "alternative facts."
To combat the lies, the news can not air any of Trump's press conferences or statements live, but after the fact. This way, when the news reports on the statements, they can clarify which ones were lies.
When the highest office holder and his staff members lie blatantly to push their agenda, they are threatening democracy. Indeed, some of the most frightening dictatorships in history began with simple, seemingly harmless lies being told by leaders.
Sign now to demand: fact check Kellyanne Conway! Do not air their press conferences live and spread their lies! The United States will not stand for an administration that not only does not care about facts, but actively spreads falsehoods.
