Dorota Trec of Brooklyn was recently convicted of 100 counts of animal cruelty. Rabbits, seized from Ms. Trec last year from a filthy, covered in garbage and glass vacant lot behind a tire store near the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn. Vets had found that most rabbits had wounds, bites, and half tested positive for syphilis. Nearly three dozen had sustained genital or anal trauma, and still others had abscesses and skin inflammations associated with being kept in unclean environments. After the confiscation, Dorota Trec has gotten more rabbits. Some of them were confiscated just days ago. This woman had refused free vet care. She deserves jail sentence for intentionally harmful behavior.
