Arrest Ashton Kutcher for Unlawful Firearm Transfer

Ashton Kutcher said publicly on Twitter on Nov. 8, 2018, that "My friend gave me a gun as a gift in the parking lot of the borderline on my birthday."

It's unclear whether Mr. Kutcher violated CA Pen. Code, § § 26800-26850, which states "all firearms purchases and transfers, including private party transactions and sales at gun shows, must be made through a California licensed dealer under the Dealer's Record of Sale (DROS) process."

We are asking the California DOJ to officially investigate the matter to determine if Mr. Kutcher and his "friend" broke the law. Should that be the case, we demand that Mr. Kutcher be held accountable for his actions and that he be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Let us be clear, we do NOT support CA Pen. Code, § § 26800-26850 or universal background checks or any other law that criminalizes the private transfer of firearms between law-abiding citizens.  We don't think that two friends should have to go to an FFL or gun shop to gift a gun to one another.

But Kutcher, who is a proponent of "gun reform" most likely does (provided it's not himself that is the recipient).  Which means that if Kutcher is going to foist gun control on the rest of us, he should be forced to pay the piper so to speak.  He should learn firsthand why we oppose so-called "common sense" gun reform.  Because it's NOT common sense.  It's nothing more than a way to chill the 2A rights of citizens and to turn otherwise well-meaning people into criminals.
