Decorating caps is part of graduation for many schools and has always been a part of our Ionia High School tradition until now. Our new principal's strong need to follow the student handbook has not always been popular with the students, but this is one rule he is inforcing that has nothing to do with the handbook. Decorating our caps is said by our new principal to be un-classy but to all seniors it is seen as an example of self expression. Mind you, this is an important part of our lives that we only get to do once. Myself, as well as the rest of my senoir class are very upset about this new rule and do not see a reason for it. I will be presenting this petition to the Ionia School Board with several other students and making a statement as to why this is unfair on April 17th.
