Change Pioneer Park back to Alaskaland

If you don't live in Alaska, but are a former resident, please state so in the comments. I will have to remove people who have no connection to Alaskaland.

If you haven't ever been here, please don't sign. It won't help us! Thanks anyway!

"Pioneer Park" sounds like it celebrates only pioneers, and not all the people of Alaska. There is at least one trailer park with that name! Alaskaland sounds like OUR park. People don't like the name "Pioneer Park" and most of use won't use it, preferring to call the park Alaskaland.
Do this: do an internet search on "Pioneer Park." I got over seventy parks in OTHER states  already named "Pioneer Park." Alaskaland is unique. Pioneer Park is a default, generic name.

It's time to change it back. It was changed without consulting those who use the park, and who grew up with Alaskaland (not "Pioneer Park!").

We, the people of Fairbanks, North Pole, Fox and surrounding areas, feel that the name "Pioneer Park" does not describe the true culture, art, or nature of the events held at our beloved public park.

The name Alaskaland is inclusive, while Pioneer Park is not. Alaskaland is how most of us still refer to the park.

Additionally, "Pioneer Park" is not a unique name. There is a Pioneer Park in almost every state. (Do an internet search, you will see.)

We, the people, respectfully but firmly request that we drop the "Pioneer Park" name for all these reasons, and resume using ALASKALAND.
