Rabbit, raccoon, mink and cats are suffering awful, deprived lives and excruciating deaths on fur farms to produce products mis-labelled as faux fur and sold in the UK.
Most of the 'fur' clothing made in the UK is made from faux fur, which looks and feels like animal fur. But the tragically cheap cost of real animal fur means that 'faux fur' labels on clothing are not always true. People who think they are wearing fake fur may not be.
There has not been a fur farm in the UK since they were banned in 2003, but it's not illegal to wear fur or to import certain types of real fur from fur farms abroad. Most of the real fur that is imported and labelled as 'faux fur' comes from countries such as China. Many shoppers prefer not to buy real fur for ethical reasons, as the animal fur industry is horrifically cruel. However, shoppers are being duped into inadvertently buying real animal fur.
Demand that the government Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) enforce honest labeling on all fur sold in the UK, and make sure shops test their fur so consumers know what they're getting!

EDIT: Over 100,000 signatures! Thank you so much! I didn't expect this much support from the Care2 community. It just shows that one person can make a change. I have e-mailed the Prime Minister and I should be expecting a response soon. I will keep you up to date with any news. Thank you so much!
