We Want Cindy Sheehan, Cynthia McKinney, Mike Gravel, and Ralph Nader for President

We, the undersigned, hereby establish the following:

1.) That the Democrat Party, having been thoroughly bought out by large corporate interests, is no longer a useful or viable engine for progressive change in the United States of America,

2.) That Barack Obama, having lied to the American public repeatedly about issues ranging from his position on health care reform to nuclear weapons in Iran to his position on civil liberties, and having utterly refused to fulfill his sworn oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, having refused to fulfill other sworn duties as head of the executive branch of the United States government, and having continued and %u2014 in some cases, including on the issue of targeting American citizens for execution without any due process whatsoever %u2014 expanded the totalitarian and illegal policies of the Bush-Cheney regime, is unfit to continue in the office of the presidency, and

3.) That since no candidates exist within the Democrat Party in its current makeup to challenge the power of corporate-owned politicians, progressive candidates for president and Congress in 2012 must necessarily come from outside that political party.

These facts are undeniable, and urgent action must be undertaken to run genuinely progressive candidates for the office of the presidency as well as the United States Congress.  Therefore, we the undersigned hereby urge one or all of the following candidates to make all due haste to begin the process of establishing presidential campaigns for the office of the presidency, to take place in the year 2012:

Cindy Sheehan
Cynthis McKinney
Mike Gravel
Ralph Nader

As we understand also that no independent or third party candidacy may succeed in removing right-wing politicians from office without the aid of existing political organizations, we also hereby urge the above-named candidates to run as members of one or more of the following established "third" political parties:

The Green Party of the United States
The Progressive Party (Exists in Vermont, Washington, Oregon, Delaware, and Missouri)
The Socialist Party of the United States

Because so much is at stake in saving America from its descent into fascism and dictatorship, we the undersigned pledge whatever support we can %u2014 monetary, organizational, and political %u2014 to help elect one or all of the above-named persons to the office of the presidency or to seats in Congress.
