A former North Carolina State Trooper allegedly trapped and then shot and killed a neighbors' five month old kitten for jumping on his vehicles.  The kitten had been a birthday gift for the neighbor's son. He was fired by his employer and criminally charged.  Now he is appealing his termination.  Please tell the authorities in North Carolina that there is no room for such poor judgment and those that abuse animals within the law enforcement community.
Dear Colonel Glover,

We the undersigned read with dismay about the actions of former Trooper Shawn C. Houston.  While animal abuse is not acceptable on the part of any civilized person, for a law enforcement officer to behave in such a manner is particularly eggregious.  This man's actions are a disgrace to the many fine men and women that protect and serve us every day.  Your agency was correct to terminate this man's employment.  We urge you to uphold this action.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and hear our concerns.  We trust that you will continue to do the right thing.
