Bruce Wrobel, CEO of Herakles Farms, plans a >70.000 hectare palm oil plantation. For this plantation dense, high canopy, mature rainforest would be cut down fragmenting a continuous forestblock.
- -Fragmentation isolates populations of endangered wildlife (e.g. forest elephants, Nigerian-chimpanzees, drills, red colobus monkeys)
- -The permit for the plantation was given without agreement from all of the 38 small villages (45,000 people) and factual landowners. Their estates would become confiscated or will be enveloped in this palmoil plantation.

Dear Mr. Bruce Wrobel, CEO of Herakles Farms,
We the undersigned got to know about the planned deforestation in the Korup region of Cameroon. Herakles Farms plans a > 70.000 hectare palm oil plantation in South West Cameroon. Over half of the proposed plantation area is covered by dense, high canopy, mature rainforest.
Due to the large plantation, the so far continuous forestblock in heart of the Gulf of Guinea region would become highly fragmented, isolating important populations of endangered wildlife (e.g. forest elephants, Nigerian-chimpanzees, drills, red colobus monkeys). We consider the potential effects of this plan as being more disastrous than the highway through the Serengeti in Tanzania.
The permit for the plantation was given without agreement from all of the 38 villages (45,000 people) and factual landowners, whose estates would become confiscated. Their culture and way of life is closely tied to these forests, which provide these villages with clean water, food and important income capabilities. In fact, the planned plantation has already disrupted villages as demonstrated when your bulldozers came into the village Fabe and the villagers defended themselves.
Because of these facts we politely ask you to stop the deforestation. Please consider the social impact of the planned plantation and respect the value of one of the oldest and most biodiverse rainforests of our planet.
