FREE WESLEY SNIPES!

All people have a right to a fair and impartial trial and we do not believe making Mr. Snipes an example and sending him to prison for three (3) years on a misdemeanor conviction is serving justice. It is not fair to him or to his family who is missing him very much right now. It is also not fair to the citizens of the Unites States of America and other countries to allow this verdict to stand. Everyone should be able to feel safe in the knowledge that the justice system will not be biased but always fair towards individuals regardless of whom they may be, but they should also feel safe from excessive prosecution, harsh sentencing and being made an example of.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder
Office of the Attorney General U.S Department of Justice

Dear Attorney General,

We, the undersigned, join together in expressing our deep concern for the harsh sentence of three (3) years of imprisonment handed down to Wesley T. Snipes during his trial in 2008. The sentence was for three (3) misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file tax returns and Mr. Snipes began his sentence on December 9, 2010.
We urge you to immediately investigate the details of his case and call on you to use all measures afforded you as Attorney General to ensure that Mr. Snipes receives due process. There has been clear evidence as well as factors of prosecutorial misconduct during the trial that were presented to Judge Hodges, the judge who imposed the maximum three (3) years of imprisonment on the misdemeanor convictions. Judge Hodges expressed at the sentencing hearing after the jury had acquitted Mr. Snipes of the tax fraud charges, that he was going to make him an example. Soon thereafter, Judge Hodges denied Mr. Snipes' appeal, refused to interview the jurors who stepped forward, rejected to grant him a new and fair trial as well as denied the emergency bail Mr. Snipes filed in hopes to stay with his children during the holiday season. Instead of having any compassion, he denied everything and rushed him to prison.

All people have a right to a fair and impartial trial and we do not believe making Mr. Snipes an example and sending him to prison for three (3) years on a misdemeanor conviction is serving justice. It is not fair to him or to his family who is missing him very much right now. It is also not fair to the citizens of the United States of America and other countries to allow this verdict to stand. Everyone should be able to feel safe in the knowledge that the justice system will not be biased but always fair towards individuals regardless of whom they may be, but they should also feel safe from excessive prosecution, harsh sentencing and being made an example of.
Thank you for reading this letter and we hope you will consider lending your assistance in an effort to bring Mr. Snipes' case to justice.

The following individuals believe that Wesley T. Snipes was unjustly prosecuted, harshly sentenced and should have his sentence altered immediately.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
