Tell President Biden to Protect More Parks
Last year, President Biden committed to the country's first-ever national conservation goal of protecting 30 percent of our lands and waters in the country by 2030.
The president recently created the Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument, a huge win for the environment – but if we are going to reach the administration's conservation goals, we need to make more progress this year.
Tell President Biden you support our newest national monument and ask him to protect other places, including Avi Kwa Ame in Nevada and Castner Range in Texas, and expand the existing Berryessa-Snow Mountain National Monument in California.
Dear President Biden:
Thank you for using authority from the Antiquities Act to designate Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument in Colorado! The military legacy and outdoor recreation history in the region will now be preserved for generations to come.
We appreciate your commitment to protecting places with historic, cultural and ecological resources, and we encourage you to designate additional national monuments soon–such as Avi Kwa Ame in Nevada, Castner Range in Texas, and expand the existing Berryessa-Snow Mountain National Monument in California.
Avi Kwa Ame in Nevada includes sacred Indigenous sites and biodiverse wildlife in the Mojave Desert. Castner Range in Texas has significant geological, paleontological, and archaeological features; a cultural history that dates back 10,000 years and would expand access to the outdoors.
These are the perfect opportunities to build a strong conservation legacy by championing locally-led initiatives to protect places with cultural, historic and ecological resources before it is too late.
Sincerely,
[your name]
