Recently, officials in a town south of Atlanta received a
tip about some dogs that someone suspected were in trouble. But nothing could have prepared them for the situation they would find when following up on that tip.
Over 150 dogs, living in deplorable conditions. There were dogs in cars, in outdoor pens, and all over the home on the property. The home itself was completely unlivable -- what appeared to be
months and months worth of feces was caked inches deep on the floor.
Sign the petition to demand justice for these cruelly neglected dogs!Allegedly the property owners, a couple, were living in their car parked outside -- maybe because the conditions of the house were so horrific.
The home was a complete nightmare. Several dogs were found dead, and others were tragically in such bad condition, they couldn't be saved.Despite all this, rescuers saved the dogs that they could, and described the survivors as "affectionate, social," and "grateful for the attention." What miraculous little souls!
How things got this bad is unclear -- but there is
no reason that over 150 dogs should have been enduring such awful circumstances. The couple have been charged with felony animal abuse, but in Georgia, that warrants a fine and some jail time. But what we know will make real change is a lifetime ban on animal ownership. Keeping an animal is an immense responsibility and privilege, one which these people have clearly squandered.
To keep all future animals safe, we must demand this couple never be able to own any ever again!Sign the petition and join us in calling for justice for these poor dogs!
