Make Corporations and the Super-Rich Pay What They Owe In Taxes!

Word on the street is that Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and other weapons contractors are so grateful for the generosity of people in the United States.

If you paid income taxes, your tax dollars definitely went to these weapons corporations. In 2023 alone, U.S. taxpayers funded weapons and war to the tune of $5,100 each.

Tax dollars also build bridges, pave roads, provide students with computers, clean up the air we breathe, and lower energy bills. But corporations like Raytheon don't only receive massive government contracts, they also enjoy massive tax breaks — and those breaks mean there's less money to pay for the programs we all rely on.

Luckily, it doesn't have to be this way. President Biden's recently released budget for fiscal year 2025 helps address this massive inequality. It includes provisions to reverse Trump-era corporate tax breaks, restore full funding to the IRS, raise taxes on corporate buybacks, eliminate subsidies for the fossil fuel industry, and more.

But to make this policy a reality, we've got to pile on the pressure in Congress to make sure those provisions stay in the final bill. Budget negotiations are already underway. Will you speak out now?
To members of the 118th Congress:

Corporate tax breaks mean there's less money to pay for the programs we all rely on. I urge you to increase the corporate tax rate as outlined in President Biden's recently released budget for fiscal year 2025.
