100% Clean Energy for Illinois

  • by: Vote Solar
  • recipient: Illinois Governor Pritzker

Exciting news: Illinois lawmakers are taking steps to put our state on a path to 100% clean power — a bold but achievable goal that will support good jobs, healthier communities, and a stronger energy future.

A whopping 85% of Americans agree that we should produce 100% of our power from clean sources like solar and wind, support that runs strong across party lines. That's because there is every reason to speed our transition to 100% clean energy. Whether your priority is protecting your children from asthma or other pollution-related health issues, or improving local job prospects in tomorrow's U.S. economy, or safeguarding future generations against the most devastating consequences of our changing climate, 100% is the way forward for us all.

We know that clean energy makes us stronger — and that Illinoisans like you are ready for action. But coal, oil and gas lobbyists are not going to give up their stranglehold on the polluting fossil economy without a fight. Governor Pritzker needs to hear from constituents like you that 100% clean, renewable energy is a top priority.

Let us know that you're with us by signing the petition for a 100% clean powered Illinois!

To Governor Pritzker,

I am an Illinois voter, and I urge you to put our state on a path to 100% clean electricity. Please support legislation that would power Illinois with 100% carbon-free resources by 2030, and 100% renewable energy sources like homegrown wind and solar by 2050.

Along with a majority of Illinois voters and hundreds of organizations from across the state, I support this ambitious vision of putting thousands of people to work building a healthy, resilient, renewable energy economy.
