Tell Florida Lawmakers to REJECT Misguided Bills
Florida lawmakers are considering potentially harmful legislation (HB 1181, HB 947/SB 1520 and HB 1551/SB 426) that could put consumers and the recovery of the insurance marketplace at risk. If lawmakers pass these bills, it could mean higher insurance costs for Floridians at a time when rates are stabilizing, and some companies are decreasing rates.
Florida lawmakers should be working to protect consumers by only advancing legislation that promotes the stabilization of insurance costs for Floridians. These bills would fail to do that and, in fact, could do the opposite.
We need your voice as these misguided bills move through the Florida Legislature. Together, we can urge lawmakers to vote no and help improve affordability for consumers and protect the stability of our state's insurance market.
Tell Florida Lawmakers to REJECT HB 1181, HB 947/SB 1520 and HB 1551/SB 426.
Dear legislator,
I'm writing to urge you to vote NO on HB 1181, HB 947/SB 1520 and HB 1551/SB 426. If passed, these misguided bills would likely lead to higher costs and insurance rates for consumers like me and could send our state's insurance marketplace recovery backwards.
These bills could reverse recent gains Florida has seen as insurance costs have been stabilizing due to the reforms legislators passed in 2022 and 2023. Not only that, but they could also increase lawsuits and shift costs back onto Florida consumers and businesses.
Floridians are already struggling with inflation and a rising cost of living. We cannot afford to add higher insurance costs to the burdens Florida consumers already face.
Lawmakers should be working to protect Florida consumers by only advancing legislation that promotes the stabilization of insurance costs for Floridians. These bills would fail to do that and, in fact, could do the opposite. I urge you to vote no on HB 1181, HB 947/SB 1520 and HB 1551/SB 426.
Sincerely,
