I care very much about those affected by Coronavirus. However, I am also very passionately against animal experimentation, testing and "research". However, I did not think of animal experimentation before giving a donation to the Coronavirus Foundation. I thought of it afterwards and became very concerned and very upset that the money may be used to fund animal experimentation, testing and/or research.
As important as helping sick people and helping prevent and stop illnesses is, animals shouldn't have to suffer or be tortured for cures and prevention. Animals shouldn't have to suffer due to humans' idiocy. Animals shouldn't have to suffer due to humans valuing greed over nature and selling wild animals for meat, which is believed to have caused this current outbreak of the Coronavirus.
There are some who say that animal testing, experimentation and research is misleading and dangerous and bad science due to the differences between animals and humans. It is still immoral anyway. Nothing can justify unnecessary violence. There should be ways to find cures and preventions and vaccines for illnesses without using animals!!!
However, Tongji University have been experimenting using mice to develop a vaccine/s for coronavirus. They will then move onto larger animals, such as monkeys, unless they are stopped.
Please, please, please, PLEASE have a heart and use only more humane, reliable, safe, non-animal methods for research, not animals...
