It seems crazy to many Americans that politicians get filthy rich during their careers. Nancy Pelosi is a shinning example of what is wrong with American politics. She has been a public servant for over 30 years with no additional revenue streams, yet has amassed wealth that the normal citizen could not.

If her average salary was $200,000.00 over her 30 year career and she was successfully able to invest that for a 100% annual return, her net worth today would be 12 million dollars, or 1/10 of what it is today.

It would appear many conflicts of interest would be had when a politician is making additional money without doing additional jobs.
