Tell the UK Government to Prioritise Policing of Dog Fighting!

Although dog fighting is seen as a taboo "sport", it still persists despite being outlawed for 180 years. From a young age, puppies are reared in harsh conditions, and forced to endure aggressive training techniques and long, painful battles with other dogs. These vulnerable dogs never receive the love or care they desire; they are abused, drugged, and ultimately thrown into a pit with another dog to fight to the death.

We need your help: despite being banned, dog fights continue to take place in the UK. Fights are now being filmed and distributed online, glamorising and encouraging more fights. Dogs injured from fights rarely receive medical attention, and those who can no longer fight will die or be killed by their sadistic owners.

Sign the petition and support the League Against Cruel Sports in our efforts to:
  • Carry out investigations in areas where dog fighting is known to take place and enable our team of professional investigators to gather evidence.
  • Educate dog owners, particularly where children might be exposed to dog fighting or at risk from gangs with dogs.
  • Call for tighter regulations for dog breeding to prevent dogs from being 'manufactured' as a 'commodity'.
  • Lobby government to increase the penalty for dog fighting and the resources available to police to enforce laws against dog fighting.

Take action and call upon the UK government to prioritise the policing of dog fighting by making it a recordable offence with a two year prison sentence and increasing the resources available to investigate, police and reduce this crime.
