On his very first day in office, President Trump dramatically expanded the Global Gag Rule – a draconian policy that cuts off US Government funding for international organizations that provide safe abortion information or services.

Because MSI refused to abandon the women and girls we serve with contraception and safe abortion, we faced a severe funding shortage that has deprived 5.2 million women of access to our lifechanging care and services since Trump took office. The Global Gag Rule creates unnecessary hardship for poor women and girls by causing more unintended pregnancies, more unsafe abortions and more pregnancy-related deaths.
