Support the Tribes of the Amazon

An uncontacted tribe was recently photographed in the Amazon and seems happy, healthy and sustainable. As happy as they seem, they are constantly being threatened by illegal logging and an uncaring government.
The uncontacted tribe has historically resided on the border of Brazil and Peru, in the Amazon forest, but is being forced into Brazil as illegal loggers press farther into their territory in search of rare rainforest wood. This migration can cause conflicts over resources with tribes already living in the area and with the loggers themselves, conflicts which often turn deadly.
The Brazilian government is already working to protect the tribe's territory and privacy, but the Peruvian government, until recently, has refused to acknowledge that the tribe exists in order to justify the logging.
Support the tribes of the Amazon by urging Peruvian President Alan Garcia to protect their territory and keep it off limits to loggers.
The uncontacted tribes of the Amazon have lived peacefully and sustainably for generations. Their livelihood and culture are being increasingly threatened by illegal logging and resource exploration.

Brazil has already taken steps to ensure the protection of these people and now it is Peruís responsibility to make sure that they are shielded from all sides.
I strongly urge you to support these tribes by protecting their land from outsiders. Keep their land free of illegal logging and other resource extraction and let their community continue to thrive.
