Climate change-denying Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has some serious debts to pay. He used Virginia taxpayer dollars to attack the work of climate scientist and former University of Virginia professor Michael Mann in a legal action intended to discredit his research on climate change.
In the end, Cuccinelli's witch hunt was not successful, but it did cost the University of Virginia $570,698 in legal fees to defend itself from his ridiculous attack against climate science. Not only did he waste important resources that could have been used for our students' education, he also impeded important research on climate change that could help us mitigate and prepare for the impacts of rising global temperatures.
