Pyramid re-use
For the past 2 years Bass Pro Shop has been in talks with the City of Memphis to take up residence in the Pyramid. In fact the company signed a non binding agreement February 2006, which required them to take possession of the building. To this date not only have they not taken possession, but they have failed to sign a binding agreement. I/we the Citizens of Memphis are asking our government officials to rescind the non binding agreement and move forward with other plans, In the best interest of our City's Landmark and Taxpayers.
I/we the undersigned residing in the City of Memphis and/or the County of Shelby in the Great State of Tennessee, hereby petition the above elected official to rescind the non binding agreement with Bass Pro Shop and move forward with the plans of Greg Ericson(Indoor Theme Park) and the following:
- 300 room luxury hotel.
- Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum
- Continuation of "The Wonders Series"
- Aquarium
- Guinness World Records Museum
- Rain forest Cafe
- Retail Shops
- 1,000 car parking garage
All under the same roof, located on the mighty banks of the Mississippi this would anchor the north end of downtown Memphis as a major entertainment venue drawing several million$ of tourist dollar$ annually. Your assistance in this effort will be greatly appreciated. Accordingly, your opposition to this effort will not go unnoticed. Our goal is to collect 5,000 signatures of Shelby County Tax Payers and Registered Voters.
