Tell Shell: explain your plans to grow your fossil gas business

Shell has announced plans to grow its liquified natural gas (LNG) business by 20-30% by 2030. This goes against the recommendation by the International Energy Agency (IEA) that no new fossil fuel projects should be started if we are to reach net zero by 2050.
We're concerned about these plans and we're asking people to join our campaign calling on the company to explain its plans to increase fossil fuel production.
Shell is one of the world's leading suppliers of fossil gas which has a hugely damaging impact on the climate. In a world transitioning to green energy, the higher level of LNG production planned by Shell is environmentally dangerous and will contribute to the acceleration of the climate crisis.
We'll be heading to Shell's AGM in London in May and would love your support as we face the company directors, asking them to explain how their increase in fossil fuel production via their LNG expansion plans is consistent with their climate commitments.
You can help us by signing this open letter that we'll be handing in while we're there.
Dear Shell,
Continued funding of fossil fuel expansion is driving climate change, creating an unstable future for us and for generations to come.
I'm therefore joining ShareAction in calling on you to explain how your plans to expand production of fossil fuels in the form of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) align with your stated commitment to the energy transition and Paris Agreement. Shell must show how its current and future investments in fossil fuels are putting the company on track to meet net zero.
The world is facing an unprecedented climate crisis, please explain how your expansion plans align with your climate commitments.
