SIGN NOW: Methane Emissions Are Dangerous. The EPA MUST Take Action.
We are running out of time to act on climate and protect public health. Cutting methane pollution from the oil and gas industry is the quickest, most cost effective way to slow the rate of climate change happening
now.
Reducing methane pollution would also honor President Biden's commitment to address the effects of environmental racism on the health of low-wealth and communities of color.
Every day that passes without strong federal methane safeguards is a missed opportunity to reduce climate and air pollution from the oil and gas industry and protect the health and wellbeing of communities across this country. We cannot continue to wait. The EPA must act now.
We need to show the Biden administration that the environmental movement is ready to stand up for climate action and healthy communities.
Together, we can win a cleaner climate and healthier communities for ourselves and future generations.
Will you take action today to demand common sense safeguards against methane emissions to protect Earth and our communities? Tell Biden the time is now.
Thank you for taking a stand,
League of Conservation Voters
Dear ==FNAME==,
Earlier this month, environmental justice advocates and public health experts from around the country participated in a nationwide day of action to call on President Biden to cut methane pollution from the oil and gas industry.
This effort follows a proposal from EPA that would lead to a moderate reduction in methane leaks.
The Biden administration has the chance to go further, but that's only going to happen if they hear from us now.Oil and gas development has plagued vulnerable communities with methane pollution that pollutes the air, leaving residents at higher risk of cancer, asthma, and birth defects.
President Biden and EPA must strengthen new safeguards to further reduce methane pollution from the oil and gas industry, protect public health, and address the climate crisis.
Half-measures won't do enough to protect frontline communities – the federal government must do more. Signera petitionenSignera petitionen
