Demand an End to the use of Fireworks in Modesto, CA

During July 4 and New Years celebrations and many days before and after, fireworks are going off everywhere...downtown and next door. I have talked to thousands of people who are in favor of banning fireworks...........period............inside the City of Modesto city limits. Every year, I hear stories of so many pets escaping, getting hit by cars while running in fear during fireworks. Homes, trees and cars are set on fire. The fireworks can't be contained to just an hour or so during the evening or the break of the New Year. They go on and on for days on end and people are just sick of it. Not only are pets at risk, but many people suffer PSD and high anxiety during these fireworks. There is such a thing as silent fireworks. Let's work towards making those the only legal fireworks available. The argument that selling fireworks raises money for youth programs and churches just does not stand the test of time. There are many, many more ways to raise money that are less harmful and damaging.
