Why Is This Petition Important?
The McMinn / Monroe County police are well meaning. They will hear your complaint about your missing dog and they are sincere in wanting to help. BUT, they lack the manpower and resources to fulfill their intentions. Understandably, a shooting or fatal accident has to come first. So, they only have a single animal officer and he also is the chapelan so his time is already spread thin because he handles all the animal complaints in the entire county. He needs help. This petition will serve the purpose of addressing the county to get more resources to investigate possible dog fighting and cruelty in the county. Dog fighting is a felony and should be investigated thoroughly.
Who Should Sign: Anyone in Mcminn / Monroe County who concerned about the welfare of their pets. Especially if you are missing a dog and believes its been stolen or you know someone who believes there dog has been stolen within McMinn County TN boundaries. Also anyone who has found an abused or murdered dog (ie" plastic bag on its head, or beaten, looking like it may have been in dog fights with scars, etc,) in McMinn County area. Basically anyone who thinks our McMinn County dogs need help!!!!
